The Killing Gloves of Boxing (K.G.B.) is an unlockable melee weapon for the Heavy. They appear as a pair of large, padded, team-colored boxing gloves. This weapon gives the user a 5-second critical hit boost on a kill, that carries across all other weapons. The critical hit timer will be reset if a enemy is killed with the gloves during the crit boost. The weapon has a drawback of a 20% slower swing speed, so the swing time is just under a second, about 0.96 seconds between each swing, the slower firing speed balances out the crit boost it gets upon a kill and makes it less likely to get a crit boost too. Generally, if an enemy is at close range it is often worth attempting to punch them to death. Other than, your secondary or perhaps primary weapons are better for the crit boost due to the heavy's slow speed makes him bad at chasing down enemies as he is the slowest naturally moving class in the game no matter what discounting slowing effects such as the Cow Mangler 5000's charged shot for the Soldier. There are times that you should use your primary weapon during the crit-boost such as if you manage to kill someone with melee in a large battle. A crit boosted minigun for five whole seconds can easily wipe out an entire team in 2 seconds, as each second will deal over 1000 damage per second on criticals.
