The Danger Shield is absolutely essential for an aggressive Sniper because when you get closer to the enemy team you will be the #1 target for the enemy team. It used to be pretty good with the +15 health, but that stat was removed. It's great if you get tunnel vision in the enemy base or just hate those pesky pyros.
